Michael Jordan's expansive estate on North Carolina's Lake Norman is nearing completion, with recent aerial photographs revealing a completed roofline and frame. The custom-built home is situated within the exclusive Peninsula Club golf course in Cornelius. The Jordan Family Gift Trust acquired the original property, a six-bedroom, eight-bath residence with a private pier, in 2013 for $2.8 million.
By March 2025, demolition crews had cleared the original structure to make way for the new construction. The property's location within the Peninsula Club places it adjacent to a golf course fairway.
This North Carolina development is part of Jordan's extensive real estate portfolio. He also owns a 7,000-square-foot property in Uptown Charlotte, created by combining two penthouses purchased in 2010 for $3.15 million. His primary residence is a 28,000-square-foot compound in Jupiter, Florida's Bear's Club, an area he expanded in 2024 by purchasing a nearby five-bedroom house for an undisclosed sum.
Jordan's real estate ventures also include past properties such as a mountain retreat in Park City, Utah, sold in 2020, and a Lake Michigan penthouse from his Chicago Bulls era. His Highland Park, Illinois, estate, noted for its "23"-emblazoned gate, was sold in December 2024 for $9.5 million after being on the market for over a decade.
Meanwhile, Jordan's role as a "special contributor" for NBC Sports is reportedly drawing to a close. Reports indicate he will not return for the 2026-27 season after a limited on-air presence, which included just one interview with host Mike Tirico throughout the past season. The limited role drew criticism, though Tirico defended Jordan's involvement by noting his many interests in the game and business ventures, including his stake in the Charlotte Hornets and the Jordan Brand.
