Michael Jordan's new luxury lakefront mansion is taking shape along the shores of Lake Norman in Cornelius, North Carolina. Exclusive aerial images show the structure and roofing of the custom estate, with exterior work appearing to be the next phase of construction.

The Jordan Family Gift Trust acquired the property for $2.8 million in 2013. The original home on the site, which featured six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and a private pier, was demolished in March 2025.

The new residence is situated within the exclusive Peninsula Club golf course community. The Lake Norman property is a significant part of the basketball icon's real estate portfolio and signifies his continued ties to North Carolina.

Jordan also owns a 7,000-square-foot residence in Uptown Charlotte, created by combining two penthouse condos purchased in 2010 for $3.15 million. His primary residence is a 28,000-square-foot estate in Jupiter, Florida, located in the Bear's Club community, which includes athletic facilities and a private basketball court. In 2024, Jordan expanded his Florida holdings by purchasing an adjacent 9,100-square-foot mansion for $17 million.

Earlier in his marriage, Jordan and his wife, Yvette Prieto, purchased a three-bedroom home in Miami for approximately $281,000 in 2008. The Hall of Famer previously owned a 9,500-square-foot home in Park City, Utah, acquired in 2007 and sold in late 2020.

During his tenure with the Chicago Bulls, Jordan resided in an 8,000-square-foot penthouse on Lake Michigan, which was transferred to his ex-wife Juanita Vanoy after their 2006 divorce and sold in 2014. His former estate in Highland Park, Illinois, known as Champions Point, which featured his iconic No. 23 front gate, sold for $9.5 million in December 2024 after being on the market for 12 years.

NBA legend Jordan opted to destroy the original mansion back in March 2025

The construction updates on Jordan's Lake Norman home coincide with recent news regarding his television career. It was reported that he will not be part of NBC Sports' basketball coverage for the upcoming season. Jordan joined the network as a 'special contributor' last May, but his role primarily consisted of a single interview with host Mike Tirico, which generated a divided reaction.

According to Front Office Sports, Jordan is unlikely to return to NBC Sports for the 2026-27 season. Mike Tirico had previously defended Jordan's limited on-air role, citing his numerous business interests and ongoing involvement with the Charlotte Hornets and Jordan Brand.
