Michael Douglas Recalls Wild Golden Globes Night with Bob Dylan, George Harrison

Actor Michael Douglas recounted a memorable evening following his 1988 Golden Globe win, an event that unexpectedly brought together music legends Bob Dylan and George Harrison, and an unusually indulged canine.

Douglas, who received the award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama for his role as Gordon Gekko in "Wall Street," found himself alone after the ceremony's press events concluded. Seeking a drink, he went to Trader Vic's before returning to his hotel, feeling a sense of solitude.

His evening took a turn when George Harrison of The Beatles called his hotel room. Harrison, along with Bob Dylan, then joined Douglas. Douglas described the encounter as one of the most remarkable nights of his life, though he noted that the true scene-stealer was Harrison's dog. According to Douglas's memoir, "One Helluva Ride," the large dog began consuming caviar from a table, an event met with bemused observation from Dylan and a mix of amusement and financial calculation from Douglas.

In related entertainment news, director Michael Bay is reportedly in final talks to return to the "Transformers" franchise. Bay, who helmed the first five films in the series, is negotiating with Skydance studio, led by David Ellison. The previous installments directed by Bay grossed over $4.38 billion worldwide. Following Bay's departure, "Bumblebee" was directed by Travis Knight and "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts" by Steven Caple Jr. The eighth "Transformers" film is currently uncast.
