Miami Woman Arrested for Allegedly Stealing Luxury Watches After Tinder Date

Miami police have arrested a 24-year-old woman in connection with the theft of two luxury watches, including a Rolex valued at $37,000, from a man she met on Tinder. Alexia Jocelyn Flores was taken into custody on Wednesday and faces a grand theft charge.

The incident occurred early Sunday morning on September 19. The victim reportedly brought Flores back to his apartment in the Panorama Tower skyscraper on Brickell Bay Drive after a dinner date. According to an arrest report, the pair had spent several hours together at the victim's residence before he asked Flores to leave around 2:30 a.m.

Surveillance footage captured the man escorting Flores to the elevator, where they shared a kiss goodbye. The victim stated he did not see Flores take the watches at the time. He discovered they were missing from his nightstand only after she had departed.

When the victim attempted to contact the Uber driver he had arranged for Flores, he found that she had blocked his number. He later provided detectives with proof of purchase for the stolen Rolex and identified Flores from a six-photo lineup on September 21.

Investigators tracked down Flores, who offered a different account of the evening. She recalled meeting the man and going to his apartment but claimed she believed she had been drugged and could not remember the subsequent events. Flores denied taking the watches.

She was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. During a court hearing on Thursday, a judge appointed her a public defender and ordered her to stay away from the alleged victim. A prosecutor highlighted Flores's history, noting an open prostitution case and a previous arrest for prostitution in California in July.

Flores was being held on a $7,500 bond as of Thursday morning.
