A Miami-area housekeeper has been arrested and accused of stealing approximately $36,500 worth of jewelry and luxury watches from her employer over a period of 12 years, according to arrest documents.

Yuliedy Diaz, 48, was taken into custody on Wednesday. Prosecutors allege that she repeatedly pawned items belonging to the woman she worked for, including Cartier and Rolex watches, necklaces, gold bracelets, and earrings.

The affidavit states that the employer began noticing items missing from her home over the past few years. Law enforcement utilized a nationwide pawn shop transaction tracking system called Leads Online. This investigation revealed that Diaz allegedly pawned 32 of her ex-employer's items between July 2018 and June 9, 2026.

Investigators determined that Diaz pawned a total of 73 items during the timeframe under investigation. The affidavit details specific transactions, including one on September 14, 2021, when Diaz allegedly pawned a pair of earrings and a band ring engraved with the initials "MM." Two weeks later, she is accused of pawning a yellow gold pendant charm and two white gold rings.

According to the documents, Diaz pawned items seven times in 2022 alone, selling Cartier Ballon and Rolex Oyster watches. Authorities noted that Diaz provided her driver's license, home address, and phone number to pawn shops each time she conducted a transaction.

One of the shops she used to pawn off the items was the La Casa de Oro 3 Pawnshop, per the filing

When presented with a photograph of Diaz by officers, the employer identified the suspect and noted that Diaz was wearing earrings that belonged to her. Upon being shown images of the pawned jewelry, the employer recognized 32 items as her property.

Diaz was arrested at a location in Goulds, Florida. She reportedly waived her Miranda rights and admitted to working for the woman and to stealing and pawning the items, acknowledging all 73 pieces of her former employer's jewelry when presented with evidence. Following her arrest, Diaz also provided a written statement apologizing to the victim.
