Mia Tindall Competes in Equestrian Event, Following Mother Zara's Footsteps

Mia Tindall, the 12-year-old daughter of equestrian Zara Tindall, recently took part in the team show jumping competition at the Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials in Oxfordshire. Her participation marks a continuation of her family's deep-rooted involvement in equestrian sports.

Mia rode her pony, Bunny Two Twirls, and wore traditional riding attire. Observers noted her resemblance to her mother Zara when Zara was a similar age, participating in an event in 1992. Zara Tindall was present at the trials, beaming as she watched her daughter compete. The mother and daughter were seen together in jodhpurs, appearing comfortable and engaged with the event.

Zara Tindall, an experienced equestrian herself, had competed at Blenheim Palace earlier in the weekend on her horse Classicals Euro Star. She was also seen assisting Mia with her preparations, including observing practice rounds and tending to Mia's pony.

Mia represented the Minchinhampton Pony Club, based near Stroud, Gloucestershire. She demonstrated confidence as she navigated the show jumping course. Her attire included polished riding boots, a fitted competition jacket, and a black helmet.

Zara, who is married to former England rugby player Mike Tindall and is the niece of the current King, had previously been seen grooming her horse at Blenheim on Saturday before Mia's competition the following day. Zara, a silver medalist at the 2012 London Olympics and a former BBC Sports Personality of the Year winner, was seen in casual attire, supporting her eldest daughter.

The Tindall family has a strong equestrian legacy. Mia's grandparents, Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips, were both Olympic equestrians. Queen Elizabeth II also rode from a young age until shortly before her passing in 2022.

In a 2019 interview, Zara Tindall mentioned that both her daughters, Mia and Lena, had begun riding at a young age. She noted that while Lena was a passenger, Mia was already riding her own pony.

The Blenheim Palace Horse Trials, held annually at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, typically span several days, including dressage, cross-country, and show jumping phases. Zara Tindall has a history of competing at this event, having won individual and team gold medals in 2005 at the European Championships held there.
