The New York Mets ended a seven-game losing streak on Saturday with a 6-2 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies at Citi Field. The win marked the first for interim manager Andy Green, who replaced Carlos Mendoza. The Mets' offense, which had struggled in recent games, erupted in the sixth inning, scoring six runs to secure the win after trailing for much of the game.

For the first five innings, the Mets' offense generated little traction against Phillies openers Tim Mayza and Alan Rangel, producing only three baserunners. The turning point came in the sixth inning when six consecutive Mets batters reached base. A single by Juan Soto and a hit by Bo Bichette put runners on the corners. Francisco Lindor then hit a triple that tied the game, followed by a two-run single from A.J. Ewing that gave the Mets the lead. The team extended its advantage in the following inning with an RBI triple from Soto and a sacrifice fly from Bichette.

Pitcher Christian Scott, returning from the injured list, allowed two runs, including a home run to Bryce Harper in the third inning, but limited the damage over 4 1/3 innings, striking out six. Following Scott, the bullpen — A.J. Minter, Huascar Brazobán, Luke Weaver, and Devin Williams — combined to pitch 4 2/3 scoreless innings, allowing only two hits and one walk. Minter recorded five outs, and Weaver extended his scoreless streak to 23 innings over 21 games. Williams closed out the game for the win.

The victory provided a brief respite for the Mets (35-48), who are widely expected to be sellers at the upcoming trade deadline. The team had scored six or more runs only once during their seven-game skid prior to Saturday's matchup.
