Mets Bolster Front Office with Hiring of Former Twins Executive Derek Falvey

The New York Mets are set to add Derek Falvey, formerly the president of baseball operations for the Minnesota Twins, to their front office. The move reunites Falvey with Mets president of baseball operations David Stearns, with whom he previously worked in Cleveland.

Falvey, 41, spent over a decade in Cleveland's front office starting more than ten years ago, working alongside Stearns. He departed the Twins organization earlier this year after helping to build teams that reached the postseason four times during his tenure.

This addition follows the Mets' recent decision to remove the interim tag from manager Andy Green, signing him to a three-year contract. Owner Steve Cohen had previously indicated plans to bring in new voices to the front office to offer fresh perspectives. The Athletic was the first to report Falvey's impending move to the Mets.
