Metropolitan Police Submits Grenfell Tower Fire Investigation File to CPS

The Metropolitan Police has submitted its final investigation file into the Grenfell Tower fire to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), the force has announced. According to the announcement, 20 companies and organizations, as well as 54 individuals, could face criminal charges. The police have previously characterized the case as one of the most complex investigations ever undertaken by any UK law enforcement agency. A public inquiry in 2024 determined that the fire, which occurred on June 14, 2017, was avoidable. A total of 72 people died in the blaze in North Kensington.
