A Metropolitan Police officer has been dismissed for breaching social media policies, including calling senior colleagues 'wastemen' and making allegations of corruption and racism within the force. PC Idominik Efeotor, who served in the Met's Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command, was dismissed without notice following an accelerated misconduct hearing this week.
According to reports from the hearing on Monday, Efeotor published podcast episodes and social media content between 2024 and 2026 while identifying himself as a serving officer. He had initially declared the podcast as a business interest, but this permission was later withdrawn.
In videos posted to TikTok, Efeotor discussed alleged 'corruption' and 'racism' within the Met. In one instance, he described a senior colleague as a 'wasteman.' The hearing was also told that other videos contained 'offensive, insulting and derogatory language.' Another clip featured the ex-officer alleging 'discrimination across the board' within the Met's Directorate of Professional Standards.
Scotland Yard stated that Efeotor also published material that could have led to the identification of an officer subject to an anonymity direction. Despite being warned on multiple occasions about his posts, he continued to upload content to social media.
The panel found that his actions constituted breaches of the standards of professional behaviour concerning discreditable conduct, orders and instructions, authority, respect, courtesy, and confidentiality.
Commander Adam Slonecki commented that Efeotor had breached social media standards 'on many occasions and despite repeated warnings.' He added, 'Not only does behaviour like this undermine public confidence in the Met, but it had a harmful and lasting impact on those he openly criticised, as well as the rest of his colleagues.'
Commander Slonecki concluded, 'There is no place in policing for anyone whose values are so far removed from what we would expect, and it is right he has been dismissed from the organisation.' Efeotor has been banned from policing.
