Metallica Kicks Off Highly Anticipated Las Vegas Sphere Residency

Metallica is set to launch their "Life Burns Faster" residency at the Las Vegas Sphere on Thursday, October 1. The iconic band will perform a total of 12 "No Repeat Weekends" over six months, featuring 24 unique shows through March 2027.

Tickets for the residency are currently available, with single-day passes starting at $688 including fees, and two-day "No Repeat Weekend" passes beginning at $963. Drummer Lars Ulrich described the Sphere experience as "something else" and "another level" in a pre-residency interview.

While the specific production details for the shows remain under wraps, past setlists from the band's "M72 Tour" offer a glimpse into potential song selections. For "Night One" performances, songs like "Master of Puppets," "Seek & Destroy," "Sad But True," "Nothing Else Matters," and "Creeping Death" have been featured. "Night Two" sets have included "Ride The Lightning," "Whiplash," "Blackened," "One," and "Enter Sandman."

The residency marks a significant event for both the band and the new Las Vegas venue. Beyond the Sphere dates, Metallica is also scheduled for performances at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, in November 2026, celebrating the venue's 25th anniversary. This will be their first performance in Connecticut since 1998.

Additionally, Metallica is continuing their "M72 World Tour" with various dates across North America in Spring 2027, including stops in Vancouver, San Diego, El Paso, and more.

Other notable acts scheduled to perform at the Sphere include The Eagles, Backstreet Boys, Carín León, and "The Wizard of Oz" immersive experience. Oprah Winfrey is also slated to host "Aha" live shows in April 2027.

Metallica released their eleventh studio album, "72 Seasons," on April 14, 2023. The album features tracks such as "Sleepwalk My Life Away," "You Must Burn!," and "Lux Æterna."
