Met Police to Re-examine CCTV in Jill Dando Murder Investigation

The Metropolitan Police has confirmed it will re-examine closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage as part of its ongoing inquiries into the unsolved murder of BBC presenter Jill Dando. Dando was fatally shot on her doorstep in Fulham in April 1999, and despite extensive investigations, the case remains open.
Investigators will review original footage from Putney Bridge train station, which includes an unidentified man seen sprinting near the scene approximately 20 minutes after the shooting. Recent advancements in CCTV enhancement technology have provided the opportunity to re-examine this material. This review is part of the force's continuous efforts to explore all avenues as technology and forensic capabilities evolve.
The Met Police stated that the investigation has undergone numerous reviews over the 27 years since Dando's death. However, the force cautioned that this latest review is part of "ongoing inquiries" and should not be interpreted as a significant new line of investigation or the opening of a new case.
