Mercedes Moné has once again emerged victorious in the Owen Hart Foundation Women's Tournament, defeating Maya World in the final at AEW Forbidden Door. This marks Moné's second consecutive win in the tournament, a feat that also earns her a championship opportunity at the upcoming AEW All In event. The match took place on Sunday night in San Jose, California.

World advanced to the final after defeating Skye Blue and Athena. Despite a strong showing and momentum gained from recent personal challenges, her run concluded with the loss to Moné. Throughout the contest, fans appeared to support Moné, though the crowd became divided as the match progressed. World utilized complex pinning combinations and hard-hitting maneuvers, even kicking out of some of Moné's signature moves. At one point, World executed a sunset flip powerbomb onto the floor and a springboard moonsault. Moné, however, maintained her composure, eventually securing the win by making World tap out to a backstabber into a crossface.

This victory makes Moné the first AEW wrestler to win the Owen Hart Cup twice. Last year, she competed for the AEW World Women's Championship against Toni Storm. Moné will now face Thekla, provided Thekla remains champion by August, for the title shot she earned.
