Jenna Weakland, 32, has detailed a dramatic breakdown of her relationship with psychologist Dr. Nicole LePera, 43, and her wife Lauren Galvin, 41, alleging a "toxic" and abusive dynamic behind the scenes of their popular self-help empire. Weakland, who joined the couple's polyamorous relationship in 2019, claims the "Holistic Psychologist" brand, which promotes unorthodox wellness practices, hid a facade of vitality and wellbeing.
LePera, who commands a large following for her approach to mental health, announced in 2021 that Weakland had entered her relationship with Galvin. Weakland now disputes this framing, telling the Daily Mail that Galvin had pursued her and that the throuple was only formed after she insisted on openness with LePera. This five-year polyamorous relationship eventually collapsed publicly, leading to lawsuits from both sides.
Weakland alleges that she was quickly enveloped in a manipulative dynamic upon joining the couple. She stated that behind closed doors, LePera and Galvin engaged in "psychological warfare" and mocked her for prioritizing her own mental health. According to Weakland, when she expressed discomfort with role-playing as LePera's daughter in social media videos intended to illustrate childhood trauma, the couple allegedly responded, "We don't take mental health breaks in this company, you're lazy."
She further claims the couple used psychiatry techniques to manipulate her, attributing her issues solely to childhood trauma. Weakland also alleges that Galvin, whom she identified as the driving force behind the company and relationship, has a history of financial impropriety, including a 2018 conviction for embezzling funds from a homeless charity and an arrest in 2012 for allegedly threatening a domestic violence victim.
Weakland claims she was promised an equal share of the expanding business, including a paid membership service, website, and book deals, but was ultimately erased from the brand and not paid her share, which her attorneys estimate at over $3.5 million. She alleges LePera shoved her down a flight of stairs, causing injuries to her ankle and hand, a claim LePera denies.
In a counter-suit, LePera and Galvin's production company assert that Weakland was an employee, not an equal partner, and that she used "deception, coercion, and abuse" to integrate into their marriage and business. They allege Weakland threatened to release false narratives and a tell-all memoir. The couple also disputes claims of financial control, accusing Weakland of spending approximately $1 million of company money on personal expenses, including a $20,000 vacation and luxury gifts.
Weakland recounted attempting to leave the relationship multiple times before finally departing in spring 2025. She stated that she felt powerless due to the company's operating agreement, which gave LePera and Galvin majority control. "I just became so completely enveloped in their world, and I started to realize, like, I don't have any agency here," she said.
LePera and Galvin deny Weakland's allegations. The lawsuits remain pending.
