Five men have been arrested on suspicion of explosive and terrorism offences following a major incident at RAF Fairford, an airbase in Gloucestershire, England, that is also used by the U.S. military.
A farmer called emergency services after spotting a group of "masked men" near the base early Sunday morning. She told the BBC that she believes her call, which she described as "pure luck," may have thwarted the group's plans.
Defence Secretary Wes Streeting stated that the farmer's account provided only a "partial picture" of the events. U.S. President Donald Trump commented that the five individuals had been "under view for a long time."
