Melania Trump on Tuesday encouraged elementary school students to embrace artificial intelligence, stating that fearing the technology could leave them behind. Her remarks came during an event where she announced new technology investments from the U.S. chip maker Nvidia.
"We need to lead as a country, and we could see now what they’re learning, and it’s very important. Of course, they need to be vigilant as well," Trump told reporters. She stressed the importance of guiding and teaching children about AI's capabilities to ensure the United States remains at the forefront of technological advancement.
During her visit to Mountain View Elementary School in North Carolina, Trump highlighted the potential benefits of AI. She expressed an optimistic outlook on the technology, envisioning a future where students create advanced robots. "Dream big and use these AI tools to build something never created before," Trump advised the students. "Maybe one of you will create the next great robot. And if you do, make sure you bring it to the White House to show me!"
The partnership with Nvidia includes providing StudyFetch with 1,500 four-year subscription licenses for students in the Ashe County School District. Additionally, 100 Jetson Nano Developer Kits will be supplied to facilitate robotics experimentation, in collaboration with Trump’s Be Best program.
