Melania Trump offered a reserved assessment of her husband's current job performance during a Wednesday morning appearance on "Fox & Friends," stating that President Donald Trump is "doing the best that he can" amid historically low approval ratings.

During the interview, which preceded her ringing the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange, the former first lady was asked by co-host Brian Kilmeade how Trump is handling the job differently in his second term compared to his first. "He has a lot on his plate," she responded, emphasizing his focus and work ethic. "He works nonstop. He has the most energy than anybody. He’s, from morning until evening, nonstop working."

Her comments come as Trump's approval rating recently fell to 32%, the lowest point of his political career, according to a recent poll. This decline coincides with national struggles with an affordability crisis, which the president has largely dismissed, and the ongoing "war on Iran" initiated in February, which has proven costly and unpopular.

Trump had pledged prior to his 2024 re-election campaign to bolster the U.S. economy by revitalizing domestic manufacturing and avoiding foreign conflicts. However, his administration has also implemented significant international tariffs and celebrated rising inflation. The president has also maintained a White House ban on several major media outlets, a move made during a critical midterm election season.

Melania Trump also used the platform to promote Imperia, an invite-only network for female business executives. She also mentioned an upcoming docuseries follow-up to last year's documentary about her, directed by Brett Ratner.
