Megyn Kelly Criticizes Trump's New Press Secretary Over Appearance and Ambitions
Conservative host Megyn Kelly suggested Katie Zacharia's ultimate goal is to secure a role at Fox News.

Conservative radio host Megyn Kelly has sharply criticized President Donald Trump's new press secretary, Katie Zacharia, suggesting her primary ambition is to transition to a media career, specifically at Fox News. Kelly commented on Zacharia's public appearance during her first press briefing, noting her makeup, hairstyle, and attire.
"Part of it is the look, you know. She’s got very heavy makeup on. She’s got the long curls. She’s got some chest showing ... Like I think she needs to dial it back," Kelly stated. "I’m just gonna say, like, I know she’s auditioning for a job on Fox News. They all are."
Kelly drew parallels to other Republican press secretaries, including Karoline Leavitt, who previously held the role and has since moved to a media position. "Look at Dana Perino; she was too. Like, it’s been a long line of Republican press secretaries whose real goal is to wind up on Fox News," Kelly added. "Roger Ailes will be the first to tell you when you are in a job in which you need to be taken seriously."
Kelly advised Zacharia to present herself as a serious individual, emphasizing that while her appearance might be attention-grabbing, it is secondary to professional conduct. "Which means dialing back the makeup, dialing back the over-the-top curls and the hair, and maybe covering up, covering up a little bit more underneath that suit jacket," Kelly said. "You’re not there to turn anybody on. You’re there to look like a professional."
Despite her criticisms of Zacharia's presentation, Kelly acknowledged that the press secretary appeared nervous during her debut. Kelly suggested that Zacharia might improve with time and experience, noting that her hiring was likely due to Trump's favorable impression and belief in her potential. "But she’s clearly not there yet," Kelly concluded.
