Megyn Kelly Criticizes Madonna's VMAs Performance, Speculates on Cosmetic Surgery

Megyn Kelly has strongly criticized Madonna's recent performance at the VMAs, labeling the 68-year-old pop icon as "needy" and "desperate." During an episode of The Megyn Kelly Show, Kelly dissected Madonna's stage presence, the accompanying choreography, and the singer's physical appearance.

Kelly described the performance, which included simulated sex acts and dancers, as lacking class and appearing to be an attempt at provocation. She specifically commented on a moment where Madonna appeared to mime pulling a laser from her backside, dismissing it as "needy."

Scrutiny of Performance and Persona

The former Fox News host also addressed Madonna's on-stage vocals, noting that the singer appeared to be performing over a prerecorded track with minimal mouth movement. Kelly questioned Madonna's statement about "bowing down to people for too long," retorting, "Who have you bowed down to?"

Kelly suggested that Madonna's actions were a sign of desperation rather than a genuine attempt to connect with the audience. She also commented on Madonna's decision to grind against a male performer, interpreting it as an attempt to evoke images of postmenopausal sexuality. "We get it," Kelly stated, "You really want us to picture you having postmenopausal sex?"

Speculation on Cosmetic Procedures

Beyond the performance itself, Kelly turned her attention to Madonna's appearance, speculating about cosmetic surgery. Based on her review of older photographs, Kelly claimed that Madonna has likely undergone butt augmentation and at least two facelifts, in addition to significant filler injections.

Kelly contrasted what she described as Madonna's "tight, amazing hamstrings and quads" and "very perky muscular bottom" in earlier images with her current appearance. She suggested that padding might have been added to Madonna's underwear during the VMAs performance to further accentuate her backside. Regarding Madonna's face, Kelly remarked that the singer's lips appeared "full Kim Kardashian"-like due to augmentation.

Kelly stated she is not opposed to cosmetic procedures but questioned the accumulation of them in Madonna's case, suggesting it resulted in an "oddly tight face."

Redefining Image and Age

Kelly proposed that Madonna, with her extensive career, wealth, and achievements, no longer needs to rely on sexualized imagery to maintain relevance. She cited Pamela Anderson and Tina Turner as examples of women who have successfully evolved their public image and embraced aging with grace.

"There needs to be a point in life, in 2026 America, where women know the sex appeal is not required to be valued," Kelly asserted. She suggested that Madonna's challenge is to redefine what it means to be Madonna at 68, drawing parallels to the pop star's history of reinvention. Kelly concluded that Madonna's current approach was "degrading" and "not working."
