The choice carries significant emotional weight, as Prince William previously shared that their mother would play the song to help alleviate their anxiety about returning to boarding school.

In a 2021 appearance on the Apple Fitness+ series Time to Walk, Prince William recounted how Diana would play various songs during car rides to school. "One of the songs I massively remember and has stuck with me all this time... is Tina Turner's The Best, because sitting in the back seat, singing away, it felt like a real family moment," he said. He described how their mother would sing "at the top of her voice," creating a distraction that lasted until they reached the school gates, at which point "reality kind of sunk in."
