Meghan Markle's Father Under Investigation for Child Pornography Hoard in Philippines
Thomas Markle Sr., who moved to the Philippines seeking a "fresh start," is reportedly being investigated after his son discovered a large stash of illicit images.
Thomas Markle Sr., the estranged father of Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, is reportedly under investigation in the Philippines for allegedly hoarding a significant collection of child pornography. The discovery was made by his son, Thomas Markle Jr., who reportedly found the disturbing material at Markle Sr.'s residence in Cebu.
Markle Sr. had relocated to the Philippines in January 2025, stating his desire for a "fresh start" and a more "peaceful" environment away from what he described as "awful drama" related to his daughter. He had expressed a wish to escape his rut and connect with new people.
At the time of his move, Markle Sr. was living in Rosarito, Mexico, and had been estranged from his daughter since before her wedding to Prince Harry. He had not met his son-in-law or his grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
According to reports, Thomas Markle Jr. was "horrified" by the discovery and subsequently contacted local police. The Philippine government's Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking is said to have formed a task force to investigate the allegations.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is also reportedly poised to launch its own probe into Markle Sr., who had been residing in a rehabilitation facility in Florida prior to the Philippine investigation. The FBI has not yet responded to requests for comment.
