Meghan Markle Receives 'Beautiful' Reception in UK, Friend Claims
Best friend Kelly McKee Zajfen shares photos and describes a warm welcome for the Duchess of Sussex.
Meghan Markle has experienced a positive reception in the United Kingdom during her recent return, according to her close friend Kelly McKee Zajfen. Zajfen, who has been staying with Meghan and Prince Harry in the Cotswolds, stated that the public has repeatedly expressed to the Duchess how much she has been missed.
Zajfen shared images on Instagram, offering the first glimpses of Markle in Britain since her return approximately three weeks ago. One photograph shows Markle smiling in a country pub while holding her son, Jack. Other images in the post feature Prince Harry playing with the baby, and the family engaged in activities like quad biking with their children, Lilibet and Archie, and their dog.
In her social media post, Zajfen described Markle as her "bestie" and expressed gratitude to those they encountered for their kindness. "It's been beautiful to witness. She missed you too!" Zajfen wrote, indicating that Markle was deeply touched by the warm welcome.
Markle and Harry relocated from the UK to California in 2020. Zajfen, co-founder of Alliance of Moms, has been friends with Markle for over two decades, having initially met through Markle's ex-husband. Zajfen noted the visit was "family time" that "filled my heart."
Separately, Prince Harry spoke about his family's recent experiences in the UK. At the WellChild Awards in London, he shared some of the "most British things" his children are now doing, including eating Marmite on crumpets, a spread they previously "dissed" him for having in the house while they lived in California. Harry also mentioned that his children had experienced "Monday blues" before school, a sentiment he related to his own experiences with "Sunday night blues" before attending boarding school.
He further commented on how fatherhood has changed his perspective on events like the WellChild Awards, emphasizing his gratitude for having healthy children. Harry stated that he and Meghan aim to use their work to foster a greater understanding of others' lives in their children, and that being geographically closer now makes it easier to support charities they are involved with.
