Meghan Markle Partners with Los Angeles Charity for Single Mothers

Meghan Markle has been unveiled as the new face of a Los Angeles-based charity, Moms Offering More (MOM), which supports single mothers. The Duchess of Sussex has partnered with the organization on a special-edition sweatshirt, continuing her philanthropic work.

The cream and chocolate-brown sweatshirt, priced at $100, features the embroidered phrase 'It's the little things' on the back, reportedly chosen by Markle. The charity, which receives support from the Oprah Winfrey Charitable Foundation, announced the collaboration via Instagram.

A black and white photo of Markle, with her back to the camera, wearing the sweatshirt was shared with the caption: "Guess who?!! Our next mama's edit is live October 11th at 7am PST. Set your alarms…these won't last long!" Markle responded to the post with a waving emoji.

This initiative follows Markle's recent engagement on International Day of the Girl, where she announced that all net profits from her As Ever teas and jams would be donated to the Malala Fund for one day. She and Malala Yousafzai, an advocate for girls' education, shared a joint statement on Instagram detailing their partnership. The statement read: "When we support the girls of today, we empower the women of tomorrow. Access to education is the key to unlocking this."

In October 2020, Markle and Yousafzai first collaborated for a virtual discussion on International Day of the Girl, focusing on the importance of education for young women. Yousafzai stated at the time, "Meghan and I are on the same page: we both believe that when girls have access to education, everyone wins."

The Malala Fund, established in 2013, works to ensure that every girl receives 12 years of safe and free education, particularly in regions facing significant barriers to education. These regions include Afghanistan, Brazil, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Tanzania.
