Meghan Markle Faces Online Mockery for 'Obvious' Hosting Advice

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has become the subject of online ridicule following her latest hosting advice shared via her As Ever brand on Instagram. In a video, Markle suggested that hosts should "have as much prepped as possible before guests arrive," adding that a "little preparation goes a long way toward making hosting feel effortless."

However, many social media users have dismissed the advice as unoriginal, with some accusing Markle of offering platitudes. Online commentator Nancy Sidley quipped on X, "I love it when Meghan trolls us with the most obvious hosting tips on the planet. Today's revelation: prepare things before your guests arrive. Next week: put food on plates."

Other sardonic comments included suggestions such as "Turn lights on before event!" and "Make sure to open your door as the guests arrive."

This is not the first time Markle's lifestyle ventures have garnered public attention. Her Netflix series explored her home cookery and lifestyle products. The As Ever brand also sells items like fruit spread jars, with flavors including Raspberry & Lavender Honey Yogurt Parfait and Blackberry Spread.

Prior to these ventures, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped back from official duties as senior members of the British Royal Family in 2020, a move widely dubbed 'Megxit.' They relocated to Montecito, California, with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. The couple has since pursued various projects, including Prince Harry's memoir "Spare," which detailed tensions within the royal family, and a Netflix documentary series that also touched upon their experiences within the monarchy.

Markle previously held several royal patronages, but after stepping down as a senior royal, she continued to support Smart Works, a charity assisting unemployed women. Reports suggest she is considering expanding her involvement in charitable causes.

Markle's foray into lifestyle content began with her Netflix series "With Love, Meghan," which premiered in February. The series showcased her engaging in activities such as cooking, cocktail making, and party planning. In February, she announced the rebranding of her venture from American Riviera Orchard to As Ever, stating the previous name had imposed limitations on her.
