Meghan Markle Donates Brand Profits to Malala Fund for International Day of the Girl

The Duchess of Sussex marked International Day of the Girl by announcing a donation of 100 percent of net proceeds from her "As Ever" jams and teas to the Malala Fund. The announcement followed a public meeting between Meghan and Nobel Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai at Claridge's hotel in London.

This event marked Meghan's first public appearance since returning to the UK with Prince Harry. The meeting and subsequent announcement were shared on Meghan's Instagram account, featuring photos of the two women.

The Malala Fund is dedicated to ensuring girls worldwide have access to safe and free education. Yousafzai, the youngest Nobel Prize laureate, was targeted by a Taliban gunman for advocating for girls' education.

In addition to the donation, the Duchess also released a £75 charity jumper, a collaboration between her Archewell foundation and "Moms Offering More," a U.S. and Canada-based initiative supporting single mothers. The jumper features the phrase "It's the little things," words spoken by the father of one of the initiative's organizers before his death.

Reports indicate that Meghan's "As Ever" products, including tea, scented candles, and bookmarks, are set to be sold in the UK for the first time. However, her jam and "flower sprinkles" will not be available due to import regulations.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Meghan are scheduled to undertake their first joint public engagements since their return to Britain. The couple is expected to visit Nottingham to meet with three charities, a location significant as it was the site of their first joint engagement as a couple in 2017. Despite these engagements, a friend indicated that the couple plans to return to California for the Christmas holidays, aiming to maintain a low profile until then.
