Meghan Markle Distressed as Father Faces Child Pornography Investigation
The Duchess of Sussex reportedly took a media break to cope with the allegations against her father, Thomas Markle, who is under investigation.
Meghan Markle chose to step away from media consumption prior to the public release of allegations that her father, Thomas Markle, is being investigated for possessing child pornography. A report indicates that the Duchess of Sussex had decided some time ago to disengage from news before the claims against her 82-year-old father surfaced.
Markle's father is reportedly under investigation following accusations that he hoarded thousands of child pornography images at his home. A close friend of the Duchess told Hello! Magazine that Markle "decided a while ago... that she was going to take herself away from the media and not look at anything, for her own mental health."
According to the friend, Markle is "just really, really upset" by the allegations. The report also notes that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have left the United Kingdom with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, amid the ongoing investigation into Thomas Markle Sr. The specific overseas destination has not been disclosed.
Meghan Markle has expressed that she is deeply distressed by the allegations involving her father. The friend added, "She keeps on looking at Lili and she's in tears, and thinking about all the children, the alleged victims. She has young children herself. It's just devastating."
