Meghan Markle Designs 'It's the Little Things' Charity Sweatshirt
The Duchess of Sussex collaborated with Moms Offering More and Alliance of Moms on a limited-edition crewneck to support mothers and families.
Meghan Markle has designed a limited-edition sweatshirt with a meaningful message, in collaboration with Moms Offering More (MOM) and Alliance of Moms. The cream-colored $100 crewneck, embroidered with the phrase "It's the Little Things" on the back and sleeve, was launched on International Day of the Girl, October 11.
One hundred percent of the proceeds from each sweatshirt sale will benefit both Moms Offering More and Alliance of Moms. The quote "It's the Little Things" was inspired by a shared moment between Moms Offering More founder Kasondra Herrendorf Cohen and her father, Hershel Herrendorf, in May 2014. While watching a man feed ducks in Vancouver's Stanley Park, Hershel Herrendorf remarked, "It’s the little things in life that bring people happiness. You never truly know somebody’s story." He passed away the following day, and his daughter has cherished his words since.
"Our goal from the beginning was to create something that felt easy, wearable, and meaningful — something people would genuinely want to live in," Herrendorf Cohen told People. "Meghan was involved from the start and helped us select the beautiful neutral colors which feel true to her aesthetic."
Herrendorf Cohen added that Markle was creative throughout the design process and remained focused on the project's purpose: supporting mothers and families. MOM provides assistance to underserved mothers, youth, and families in the U.S. and Canada, focusing on food security and childcare. Alliance of Moms is an LA-based organization that supports pregnant and parenting youth in the city's foster care system.
Markle stated that she and Archewell Philanthropies partnered with Moms Offering More on the campaign to support Alliance of Moms. "We share one intention as parents," she said, "a safe and loving future for our children. We can all appreciate that 'the little things' ladder up to big outcomes, especially when it comes to the future of our children, and we are proud to work together on this initiative as we honor International Day of the Girl."
The sweatshirt is available in sizes S through XXXL, though size L was sold out at the time of reporting. It will be available for a limited time on MOM's website.
