Meghan Markle and Prince Harry attended a gala in Victoria, British Columbia, on Friday night to celebrate the 40th anniversary of The David Foster Foundation. The foundation, established by music mogul David Foster in 1986, provides financial support for Canadian families with children requiring life-saving organ transplants and raises awareness for organ donation.

During the event, a video posted to Meghan's Instagram showed the couple walking through a corridor lined with bagpipers. "My husband loves bagpipes!" Markle was heard saying to the musicians. Prince Harry then playfully asked the pipers, "Where are mine?" and stated he could play both pipes and drums.

For the occasion, Meghan wore a black one-shouldered gown by Canadian designer Greta Constantine and accessorized with Princess Diana's diamond and sapphire earrings. Prince Harry wore a black tuxedo and bow tie. The Duke and Duchess posed for photographs with Foster and his wife, actress and singer Katharine McPhee.

Meghan and Harry have maintained a friendship with Foster and McPhee. In 2019, Foster assisted the couple in finding a place to stay on Vancouver Island. McPhee, who attended school with Markle, has previously described Prince Harry and her husband as having a close, father-son-like relationship.
