Country music singer Megan Moroney has decided to take a break from dating, stating that romantic relationships have previously overshadowed significant career moments. She is currently channeling her energy into her music and enjoying a period of focus with "no distractions."

"It’s really nice that this is one of the first tours I’ve been on where I’m not dating anyone, so I literally have no distractions," Moroney told Cosmopolitan. "And that sounds really silly, but there have been a lot of big moments and fun times that have been ruined by a guy for me. It’s nice to just have a clear head."

Moroney, 28, who has been linked to other country music artists like Morgan Wallen and Riley Green, is currently on tour. She told Fox News Digital that this break has allowed her to learn more about her personal preferences and career goals, leading to a more disciplined routine and a better understanding of her capabilities.

While she is not actively seeking a relationship now, Moroney suggested she might consider dating again after her tour concludes in October and she returns from Europe. She described her current life as peaceful, noting the enjoyment of having friends and family with her on the road and the companionship of her dog, acquired in February.

Moroney's songwriting often draws from personal emotions and experiences, a practice she has become more comfortable with over time. She shared that while fans may try to decode the inspiration behind her lyrics, she has learned to be more direct, sometimes even making it obvious who a song is about. She also noted that songs can be inspired by intense feelings that may only last a short period, rather than reflecting a prolonged state of being.

Her career gained significant momentum with the 2022 hit "Tennessee Orange," which led to her debut album "Lucky" in 2023. Moroney has since received accolades such as the ACM award for new female artist of the year and the CMA award for new artist of the year. Her second album, "Am I Okay?," was released in 2024, followed by her latest project, "Cloud 9," in February. Her current tour began in May.
