Television personality Megan McKenna has relocated to Germany full-time following a distressing burglary at her United Kingdom home two years ago. McKenna, who previously divided her time between the UK and Germany, made the decision to move permanently after the incident, which involved machete-wielding intruders.

McKenna, 33, began splitting her time between the UK and Germany in 2023 after starting a relationship with footballer Oliver Burke, who has played for German clubs Werder Bremen and Union Berlin. The couple shares a son, Landon, who is 22 months old.

Speaking on the "Great Company With Jamie Laing" podcast, McKenna described the burglary as a deeply frightening experience that made her feel unsafe in the UK. She recounted waking up late one night to find her house shaking, realizing intruders were inside. Three masked men, armed with machetes and a baseball bat, attempted to break through a wall leading from her dressing room to her bedroom.

McKenna stated that she called the police, who arrived within minutes. Despite the police advising her not to engage with the intruders, she chose to confront them to protect her dog. During the confrontation, which occurred while she was naked and had cut her foot, her jewelry was stolen. She believes her home was specifically targeted.

Adding to the distress, McKenna was undergoing IVF treatment for her son at the time. She expressed frustration that the individuals caught and tried for the burglary were reportedly released a year later, leading her to feel they were "just roaming the roads."

This was not the first time McKenna experienced a burglary. In 2017, while she was a cast member on the reality show "The Only Way Is Essex" (TOWIE), her first home was ransacked. Thieves stole thousands of pounds worth of jewelry, designer items, and sentimental possessions. At the time, it was suggested that thieves may have learned her address from the show, where she often filmed at home.

McKenna has since stepped away from reality television and is now pursuing a music career, working as a content creator from her home in Berlin.
