The Mega Millions jackpot has surged to an estimated $800 million, marking the tenth-largest prize in the game's history. This significant increase comes after no ticket matched all six numbers in Friday's drawing, extending a four-month streak without a grand prize winner. The last jackpot was won on March 17 by The Happy Trails Trust in Van Wert, Ohio, for $60 million.

The winning numbers for Friday's drawing were 2, 5, 42, 44, and 60, with the gold Mega Ball being 1. While no one secured the $743 million prize, 13 tickets managed to match four white balls and the Mega Ball, earning amounts ranging from $20,000 to $40,000 depending on the multiplier.

California led with five third-tier winners, while Florida and Ohio each had two. Other states with third-tier winners included Georgia, South Carolina, Idaho, and Missouri. The odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot stand at 1 in 290,472,336.

This current jackpot is the largest prize offered by Mega Millions since November 14, 2025, when a ticket holder in Georgia won $983 million, the eighth-largest prize in the game's history. The winner, who chose to remain anonymous, opted for the lump sum cash payment of $453.6 million before taxes.

So far in 2026, only two Mega Millions jackpots have been won: the March 17 win and a $536 million prize claimed by an online player in Illinois on March 10. This pace suggests 2026 may see fewer jackpot winners than previous years. In 2024, for comparison, there were four total jackpot winners by this date.

The next Mega Millions drawing is scheduled for Tuesday. In parallel, the Powerball jackpot is also substantial, currently estimated at $600 million for its Saturday night drawing. Powerball has not had a jackpot winner since May 2, when two tickets in Florida and Texas split a $20 million prize.
