Meg Stalter embraced the spirit of the evening at the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards, arriving on the red carpet dressed as a life-sized Emmy statuette. The "Hacks" comedian was adorned in head-to-toe gold paint, complete with large wings and a golden atom, symbolizing the arts and sciences.
Stalter, who is nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy for her role as Kayla Schaefer in the final season of "Hacks," was accompanied by co-star Paul W. Downs. Downs playfully wrapped his arms around her gilded waist as she held the golden atom aloft, a pose that hinted at potential awards success.
This year marks Stalter's first Emmy nomination. She is competing against her "Hacks" castmate Hannah Einbinder, as well as Janelle James for "Abbott Elementary," Michelle Pfeiffer for "Margo’s Got Money Troubles," and Jessica Williams for "Shrinking."
Stalter's bold red carpet choice offered a striking contrast to her appearance at the 2025 Emmys, where she garnered attention for wearing jeans and a white T-shirt with a tote bag that read "Cease fire!"
Earlier this year, Stalter and Downs reunited for a memorable red carpet moment at the Critics Choice Awards, where they parodied Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner's distinctive style. They appeared in matching bright orange outfits, echoing the leather Chrome Hearts ensembles worn by Chalamet and Jenner to the "Marty Supreme" premiere.
Beyond her work on "Hacks," Stalter recently concluded a 10-week run in her Broadway debut, "Oh, Mary!" in which she portrayed Mary Todd Lincoln. She also stars in Lena Dunham's Netflix comedy "Too Much" and released her debut single, "Prettiest Girl in America."
