A mother is appealing for the return of her terminally ill son's critical medication after it was stolen from her purse at the Texas State Fair. Kayla Price reported that her purse, containing approximately $2,000 worth of seizure medication for her three-year-old son Devin Cervantes and $1,500 in cash, was taken on October 6.

Devin, who has been undergoing treatment for a brain tumor, relies on the medication to prevent seizures. Price, who cares for her wheelchair-bound son, had hidden the purse in the back of his wheelchair while attending the fair in Dallas with Devin and his older brother. She discovered the purse missing shortly after turning away to attend to her other child.

"The potential of my son having a seizure and me not having that medication, it really sucks because I could lose everything because of somebody’s careless act," Price told Fox 4. She expressed deep distress over the situation, stating, "It really hurts because I would do anything for my baby."

The Dallas Police Department is investigating the theft as a lost property incident. Price filed a police report shortly after the incident and is worried about Devin's well-being in the interim.

"I don’t think that they know that or anybody knows the frustration or pain right now that I feel because I can’t do anything, I really can’t," Price said. She appealed to the thief, saying, "I really wish you had it in your heart to return everything. I don’t think that you know the pain that you’re causing my kids, who you’re hurting, or me."

Devin's condition has progressed, leading to physical limitations. The family has been managing his medical expenses through a GoFundMe account. Despite undergoing chemotherapy and radiation therapy, his tumor has continued to grow. Even amidst these challenges, Devin maintains a joyful spirit, enjoying activities like dancing and watching his favorite cartoons.

On October 9, Devin experienced a severe seizure, prompting an urgent need to replace the stolen medication. Local support emerged when Chris Bailey, founder of the 'Everybody Love Everybody' Facebook group, donated $2,000 to ensure Devin received his necessary treatment. The GoFundMe page details that donations are used for Devin's medical expenses, travel for treatment, maintaining stable housing, daily living expenses, and creating memories.

Even in the face of hardship, Price says her son Devin stays full of joy, filling his days with dance, SpongeBob, and Spider-Man
