A driver of a McLaren sports car was reportedly denied entry to an In-N-Out Burger in Seaside, California, on Friday evening during Monterey Car Week, according to his brother.
The incident occurred when two brothers arrived at the Seaside In-N-Out. One brother was permitted to enter the parking lot while the other, driving the McLaren, was allegedly stopped by security. A video shared by KSBW captured the McLaren driver stating, "That’s profiling. That’s racism towards cars," after a worker at the entrance allegedly told him he could not park because he was driving a McLaren.
The driver filming the encounter expressed disbelief at the presence of security at the restaurant, noting that preparations for Car Week were already underway. He also observed that while his own vehicle was not a supercar, his brother's McLaren was the reason for denial. The exact rationale behind the security's decision and whether it adhered to a specific In-N-Out policy remain unclear.
The brothers observed other sports cars parked inside the In-N-Out lot while they were denied entry. They also noted trucks outside the establishment with loud engines, contrasting them with the McLaren. The incident took place amidst heightened security and traffic management measures implemented by local businesses and law enforcement across the Monterey Peninsula for the annual event.
This situation follows a similar occurrence during Car Week 2025, when the same In-N-Out location in Seaside became an impromptu gathering spot for supercar owners and enthusiasts. That event saw hundreds of people and vehicles congregating in the parking lot for what was described as an illegal street takeover, with car owners showcasing their luxury vehicles.
