Rangers manager Derek McInnes has stated he has no concerns regarding striker Lawrence Shankland's early-season form and is confident the player will succeed at the club. Shankland, who was appointed club captain by McInnes, has scored one goal in five matches since joining Rangers in the summer.

Despite some criticism questioning Shankland's contributions and his selection for the starting lineup, McInnes emphasized his belief in the striker's abilities. "When you have a player like Lawrence, who knows his way around the penalty box and how to score goals, I do not worry too much about it," McInnes said. "He is too good not to score regularly. He has consistently shown that over a period of time in the Premier League, with 20-odd goals a season at Hearts."

Shankland has been a substitute in some recent matches, including brief appearances in the Europa League exit and a domestic cup victory. McInnes addressed the captaincy, stating that it does not guarantee a starting position, but affirmed Shankland's suitability for the role due to his character and potential influence on and off the pitch.

In other club news, Rangers have secured the season-long loan of Serbian right-back Kosta Nedeljkovic from Aston Villa. The 20-year-old's deal includes a conditional obligation to buy for £4 million next summer. Nedeljkovic is expected to be available for the upcoming UEFA Conference League qualifier against Jablonec.

McInnes highlighted the club's priority to strengthen the attacking areas of the squad before the transfer window closes. "The priorities are at the top end of the pitch. We need to bring players in there," he stated. The manager indicated that the injury to striker Youssef Chermiti has prompted a search for a new forward, in addition to a winger. He noted that the club is being specific in their targets to ensure quality additions.

Nedeljkovic, an international for Serbia, will compete for the right-back position. He expressed excitement about joining Rangers, citing the club's stature and the opportunity to contribute to its success. McInnes described Nedeljkovic as a talented, athletic, and energetic player who will bolster the defense and is eager to make an impact.
