McDonald's Australia Introduces Nashville Hot Chicken Range
The fast-food chain is launching a limited-edition menu inspired by American spicy chicken flavors, available nationwide.
McDonald's Australia is set to launch a new limited-edition menu nationwide on Wednesday, September 30, featuring a range of items inspired by the American hot chicken trend. The new 'Nashville Range' includes five new variations of chicken, fries, and wraps.
The centerpiece of the menu is a Nashville-inspired hot sauce, which will be incorporated into several new offerings. Customers can choose from the Nashville McCrispy, Nashville McSpicy, and Nashville McWrap. Additionally, Chicken McWings and fries will receive a spicy makeover.
The Nashville McCrispy will feature a whole chicken breast fillet coated in the Nashville hot sauce, accompanied by pickles, slaw, lettuce, and mayonnaise on a potato bun. For those seeking more heat, the Nashville McSpicy will use the chain's McSpicy chicken thigh fillet with the same spicy sauce and accompaniments, served on a sesame seed bun. The Nashville McWrap will enclose a McCrispy chicken breast fillet, the hot sauce, pickles, slaw, lettuce, and mayonnaise in a portable wrap.
A unique element of the range is the Nashville Shaker McWings, which will allow customers to add a Nashville seasoning sachet to their McWings pack and shake to coat the chicken. The same seasoning will be available for the Nashville McShaker Fries.
To complement the spicy offerings, McDonald's is also introducing a Frozen Fanta Mango.
According to McDonald's Australia Marketing Director Tobi Fukushima, the new range was developed to capture the essence of Nashville hot chicken, known for its crispy fried chicken with a spicy chili-based coating. He stated that the menu aims to deliver on flavor, quality, and a satisfying crispy texture, utilizing 100 percent Australian chicken and a bold, spicy sauce balanced with tangy pickles and slaw. Fukushima highlighted that the range offers multiple ways for customers to experience the new flavor profile.
Nashville hot chicken originated in Nashville, Tennessee, and is characterized by its combination of fried chicken and a fiery chili-based coating.
