McAfee Warns of Rising Scam Attempts, Offers Protection Plans

Americans are facing an increasing barrage of scam attempts, with new research from McAfee revealing that individuals receive an average of 14 scam messages each day. The cybersecurity firm's findings also indicate that one in three Americans has lost an average of $1,160 to scams.
These fraudulent encounters extend beyond unsolicited messages to include risks associated with navigating unfamiliar websites and QR codes. According to McAfee, 68% of consumers have recently scanned a QR code, and 18% of those individuals landed on a suspicious or unsafe page.
To combat these threats, McAfee is highlighting its suite of protection plans designed to safeguard users from various forms of online fraud. The company offers three main plans: Essential, McAfee+ Advanced, and McAfee+ Ultimate. The Advanced and Ultimate tiers provide enhanced features such as personal information removal, credit monitoring, and identity theft coverage, with the Ultimate plan offering up to $2 million in coverage and additional monitoring services for credit, investments, and 401(k) accounts, as well as ransomware protection.
McAfee is currently offering discounts on its plans, with potential savings of up to $110 on one-year subscriptions. The brand states that its services can protect a range of devices, from smartphones to laptops.
