Maya Jama Unrecognizable as 'Bad Grandma' for Halloween
Celebrity Traitors host Maya Jama shared a throwback clip of her 2022 Halloween costume, transforming into a 'bad grandma' with a grey wig and baggy frock.
Celebrity Traitors star Maya Jama recently shared a throwback clip of her 2022 Halloween costume, in which she appeared virtually unrecognizable as a 'bad grandma.' The presenter, 32, posted the video to her Instagram on Thursday, showcasing a drastic transformation from her usual glamorous appearance.
In the clip, Jama sports a grey wig and a loose-fitting frock, channeling a wild grandmother persona. Despite the disguise, she demonstrated her lively personality with a series of daring dance moves, including twerking. She captioned the post, "It's that season. So excited for this years Halloween party & costume."
Jama is currently a familiar face to viewers as a host on the hit BBC show, Celebrity Traitors. Earlier in the season, she also had to defend a distinctive, voluminous fur coat she wore on the show after fans humorously compared it to characters like The Honey Monster and Big Bird.
Responding to the comparisons on X (formerly Twitter), Jama humorously defended her fashion choice, stating, "It was cold as hell in the castle ok?" The outfit sparked a significant online reaction, with viewers likening her to various characters due to the coat's oversized, feathered design.
In a recent episode of Celebrity Traitors, former Today programme host Amol Rajan was eliminated after being murdered by fellow contestants Richard E. Grant and Maya Jama. Rajan and podcaster James Acaster were in contention to become the third traitor, but Rajan ultimately lost out and became the first player to be eliminated from the competition. He expressed his disappointment at being the first out but acknowledged the game's nature and praised Acaster as a strong player.
The second series of Celebrity Traitors has proven to be a ratings success, with the launch episode drawing a record-breaking nine million viewers. This figure surpasses previous premieres for The Traitors UK, indicating strong audience engagement with the show.
