Maya Jama, the presenter of Love Island, recently shared highlights from a whirlwind weekend that included attending England's World Cup game in Miami and swiftly returning to the UK for her hosting duties on Love Island Aftersun. Jama, 31, was in Miami for the match against Norway, a quarter-final clash where England secured a 2-1 victory. Following the game, she immediately departed for the airport to catch a flight back to London to host the ITV2 show.
Jama documented her quick turnaround on social media, showing herself celebrating the win in a car with a glass of white wine while en route to the airport. She captioned a post, "Side quest summer (I made it to work on time, live on your tv tonight at 10pm lol)." She also shared images of herself in a peach swimsuit while in Miami, posing for mirror selfies and showcasing her hotel bathroom. Other photos from her trip included moments at the game with Olivia, wife of footballer John Stones, and an evening out in a black dress.
To ensure she made it to her hosting commitments on time, Jama had her taxi meet her outside the stadium with her luggage, enabling a direct transfer to the airport. Upon arriving in London, she went directly to the studio, managing to make it for rehearsals. She reassured fans via video, stating, "Proof I made it to work, I'm on set in rehearsals, just like magic." She later appeared on screen in a fitted brown gown.
Jama humorously remarked at the start of the show about the possibility of missing her flight and another personality hosting in her place. This Miami trip followed a period of extensive travel for Jama, who has been commuting between the UK and Mallorca for the filming of the new Love Island series. She has been embracing her single status since her reported split from Manchester City player Ruben Dias in April.
Previously, Jama's social media also offered glimpses of her other recent activities, including nights out and attending a Bad Bunny concert. She shared photos of herself on a private jet, eating fried chicken, and enjoying other events, showcasing a dynamic summer schedule.
Earlier in the month, reports emerged of Jama spending time with chef James Freeman. They were seen in Notting Hill, where Jama had been dining with friends before interacting with Freeman outside his restaurant. Accounts described them as appearing close, sharing a hug and holding hands before joining a house party with friends. However, a source indicated that Jama and Freeman are friends and that he is in a relationship.
