Maya Jama Denies Rekindled Romance with Stormzy

Maya Jama has addressed speculation that she has reunited with her ex-boyfriend, rapper Stormzy. The presenter clarified that despite refollowing him on Instagram and sharing a clip of herself singing along to his song, they "have always been friends" and are "not back together."

Rumors of a reconciliation gained traction this week after it was noted that Jama had refollowed Stormzy on social media, an action she had not taken since their split in July 2024. Further fueling the speculation, Jama posted a video on Thursday of herself singing along to Stormzy's hit "One Second."

In response to online theories, Jama wrote on X (formerly Twitter): "I like the song. We have always been friends. No one is back together, rest with the theories."

The presenter and the rapper first dated from 2015 to 2019. They rekindled their relationship in August 2023, only to break up again in July 2024.

Following her most recent split from Stormzy, Jama was in a relationship with Portuguese footballer Ruben, 29. They ended their relationship earlier this year after 18 months of dating, having moved in together four months prior to the breakup. Both Jama and Ruben reportedly removed traces of each other from their social media accounts after the split, with sources indicating the relationship had "run its course" and that both individuals were focusing on their careers.

Jama addressed her breakup with Ruben in a statement, saying, "I'm an all or nothing girl... I will love loudly or not at all." She further elaborated, "Truth is even when I tried to keep my relationships private we get photographed anyway, I'm an all or nothing girl, I don't casually date, so yes I will love loudly or not at all and if it ends it ends, I decided a long time ago not to base personal life decisions on public opinions."

Ruben, a Manchester City player, later denied accusations of infidelity after reports surfaced that he had sent late-night follow requests to influencers while still involved with Jama. He stated, "Maya and I have always had a relationship built on mutual respect. No line was ever crossed in that regard." He emphasized that the reasons for their breakup were private and that they had handled the situation maturely, adding, "not always one has to betray the other in order for a relationship to end."

In recent personal news, Jama recently visited a skin clinic in London for an XERF treatment, a non-surgical radiofrequency skin-tightening procedure.
