Maya Jama Defends Her 'Honey Monster' Coat Amid 'Celebrity Traitors' Debut

Maya Jama, host of Love Island and a newly revealed Traitor on the BBC's "Celebrity Traitors," has humorously defended the distinctive, oversized furry coat she wore on the show. Following viewer comparisons of the garment to the Honey Monster, the mascot for Sugar Puffs cereal, Jama took to X (formerly Twitter) to address the reactions.

"It was cold as hell in the castle ok?" Jama posted, accompanied by a swan emoji, in response to the social media commentary.

Viewers had taken to X to share their amusement, with some writing, "Traitor OR HONEY MONSTER," and "Nice Honey Monster jacket Maya." Other comparisons included Big Bird from Sesame Street, The Lorax from Dr. Seuss, and Bungle the bear from the children's show Rainbow. One user humorously asked, "Has Maya Jama skinned the Lorax???"

While navigating her role on the popular reality competition, Jama also made an appearance at Paris Fashion Week. She was pictured attending the EE72 One Year Anniversary Celebration at L'Avenue in the French capital, showcasing a contrast to her castle attire. For the event, Jama opted for a low-cut black dress, drawing attention to her figure and demonstrating a different facet of her personal style.

On "Celebrity Traitors," the second episode saw the elimination of Amol Rajan, who was murdered by fellow Traitors Richard E. Grant and Maya Jama. The show's return has been a significant ratings success, with the launch episode attracting a record-breaking nine million viewers, surpassing previous premieres for "The Traitors UK."
