Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby has issued a defiant message to critics and naysayers as the team navigates a four-game losing streak. Crosby stated on Wednesday that he and the team are not paying attention to negativity and remain focused on their playoff aspirations.
"If you want to be negative and not believe, then stay over there. Stay on that side, because I know when it does turn and when you do win, all those tough people disappear, and then they come back when it’s convenient," Crosby told reporters. "That’s how the world is, unfortunately."
The Raiders' 2026 season has been marked by inconsistency. The team began with a 3-0 record, their best start since 2021, the same year they last reached the playoffs. However, they have since lost four consecutive games.
Despite the recent losses, the Raiders have shown flashes of competitiveness. The team's defense, led by Crosby, has been a focal point. Many of their defeats have been close contests, including losses by three points to playoff contenders the Chiefs and Bills. In their most recent game, a 35-21 loss to the Rams, the Raiders showed resilience by scoring two touchdowns in the fourth quarter after trailing by a significant margin at halftime.
With a challenging portion of their schedule now behind them, the Raiders are set to face the New York Jets on the road this Sunday, presenting an opportunity to return to winning ways. First-year head coach Klint Kubiak indicated that the franchise is evaluating all options regarding the upcoming NFL trade deadline, determining whether the team will be a buyer or a seller.
Crosby expressed his motivation stemming from the criticism. "I love being doubted. S—t, I’ve been doubted my whole life. Keep it coming, I appreciate that. You’re just making a bigger monster," he said. "I know this locker room feels the same way. We’re all extremely motivated, and I know guys are ready to go out there and shut everybody up."
