Max George Discusses Pacemaker Journey with Susanna Reid, Leading to Lighthearted Banter

The Wanted singer Max George recently appeared on Good Morning Britain, where he discussed his pacemaker with host Susanna Reid. The conversation, initially focused on his heart condition, evolved into a lighthearted exchange filled with innuendo, prompting Reid to erupt in giggles.

George, 38, explained that he has had a pacemaker fitted, removed, and refitted. He was initially diagnosed with a 2:1 heart block, a condition that can affect heart rhythm, leading to the implantation of the electronic device in December 2024. The pacemaker is designed to regulate an abnormal or slow heart rhythm and is placed under the skin.

During the interview, George elaborated on the surgical process, mentioning an issue with one of the leads that necessitated the removal and replacement of the device. When Reid inquired about the size of the pacemaker, George playfully offered her the chance to touch it. Reid's comment on a "slight bulge" led to further banter, with George quipping that he was usually told it was a "big bulge."

The exchange continued with George's bandmate Siva Kaneswaran also joining in the amusement. When George remarked that "the blood is flowing," Reid responded with stifled giggles, noting that "that's always good to hear."
