Maura Higgins has confirmed she will co-host the upcoming U.S. version of "I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!," scheduled to air on Peacock next year. This announcement follows closely on the heels of her selection as the host for the "Blind Date" reboot in the UK.
Higgins, 35, shared the news via her Instagram stories on Saturday morning, posting several U.S. news articles that identified her as a co-host alongside Rob Rausch, 28. Higgins and Rausch previously appeared together on the U.S. reality competition series "The Traitors." The exact filming location for "I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!" has not yet been disclosed.
This marks another significant step in Higgins' American media career. She has also been training for "Dancing With The Stars," appeared on the U.S. "The Traitors," and hosted "Love Island US: Aftersun."
The "I'm A Celebrity" franchise has faced challenges in the U.S. market, with two previous iterations lasting only a single season. However, ITV America, the producer of "Love Island US," has expressed a continued commitment to the show.
Higgins is no stranger to "I'm A Celebrity," having competed in the UK version in 2024, where she finished in seventh place. Her reunion with Rausch, who was a fellow finalist on "The Traitors," comes after he deceived her character on the show. Higgins later stated she had forgiven him, citing his promise to buy her a luxury handbag as a gesture of apology.
Like Higgins, Rausch gained prominence through the U.S. "Love Island" series, appearing in seasons five and six.
Previously, Higgins was announced as the host for the "Blind Date" reboot, a role that has garnered significant attention. Disney+ EMEA head of content, Angela Jain, described Higgins as the "perfect match" for the show, highlighting her "straight-talking humour" and reality dating show contestant experience.
Higgins is also set to compete on "Dancing With The Stars" this autumn, partnered with Mark Ballas, son of professional dancer Shirley Ballas. Her pairing has reportedly caused some friction among fellow contestants.
Her television work also includes hosting "Love Island Games" and "Love Island US: Aftersun." Her role on "The Traitors US" is considered a key factor in her rising profile and subsequent hosting opportunities. Discussions for the "Blind Date" hosting gig were reportedly advanced in June, with producers viewing her international fame and "glamour combined with cheeky charm" as assets.
Higgins's career also includes modeling and appearances on various UK television programs such as "Dancing On Ice," "Glow Up Ireland," and "Supermarket Sweep."
