She expressed reservations about being paired with him on "Dancing With the Stars," citing loyalty to her friend Brooks Nader and a disagreement with Savchenko's past comments about women. Higgins stated she does not wish to spend time with someone who speaks about women in a way she disapproves of.
Savchenko responded, stating he had never heard of Higgins and would not lose sleep over the opinion of someone he has never met.
