Matty Healy, frontman for the band The 1975, married model Gabbriette Bechtel in a Hollywood ceremony on Saturday. The couple exchanged vows at Castillo del Lago, a Los Angeles estate once owned by Madonna.
Denise Welch, Healy's mother and a former Coronation Street actress, shared behind-the-scenes photos from the celebration. She posted images of herself with her new daughter-in-law, Gabbriette, and popstar Charli XCX. Welch wore a dusty pink satin dress, while Gabbriette donned a white suit adorned with feathers and a bridal top hat.
Welch expressed her joy in a social media caption, stating, "We love our new family." She added, "To see my eldest son marry the most beautiful, funny, crazy girl under the Hollywood sign was a night I'll never forget. They are made for each other." She also mentioned her love for her "daughter-in-law and our new family." Welch also shared a photo with her husband, Lincoln, and Healy's younger brother, Louis.
Among the celebrity guests were actress Emily Ratajkowski and model Alex Consani, as well as Healy's bandmates from The 1975. A representative for the couple confirmed the marriage in a statement: "Matty Healy and Gabbriette Bechtel were married yesterday at a private ceremony in Los Angeles, attended by their family and close friends."
Sources indicated that the couple exchanged vows beneath the Hollywood sign as the sun set. Gabbriette's wedding dress was designed by the avant-garde fashion label Matières Fécales. The dress featured a sweetheart neckline, a sculpted bodice with ruffled long sleeves, and a full skirt with an embroidered train.
Healy also performed a set with The 1975 during the reception, entertaining guests and his new wife.
