Matthew Stafford Sets NFL Record for Pick-Sixes in Rams' Loss to Broncos

Matthew Stafford, quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams, has become the NFL's all-time leader in interceptions returned for touchdowns, commonly known as pick-sixes. This unwanted record was set during the Rams' recent game against the Denver Broncos on Sunday night, which Denver won 30-26.

With 4:49 remaining in the fourth quarter, Broncos safety Talanoa Hufanga intercepted a pass intended for Rams running back Kyren Williams and returned it 66 yards for a touchdown. This marked the 33rd pick-six of Stafford's career, surpassing the previous record of 32 held by Hall of Famer Brett Favre. Dan Marino ranks third on the all-time list with 29.

The pivotal interception occurred when the Rams were attempting to extend a 19-16 lead. The Broncos were playing a zone defense, and Hufanga anticipated the route, stepping in front of Williams to create the turnover. This play shifted the momentum and the score, putting the Broncos ahead 23-19.
