Matthew Stafford Discusses Taylor Swift's Music Video Shoot
Rams quarterback shares details about his and his family's experience filming Swift's 'Patient Zero' video.
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford has shared insights into his experience filming Taylor Swift's music video for her new song, "Patient Zero." Stafford and his wife, Kelly, were noticed by fans in the background of the video, which was released over the weekend. The couple, who also attended Swift's wedding to Travis Kelce in July, appeared alongside other notable figures such as Jarret Stoll and Steve Cundari, who were accompanied by their partners, Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson.
Stafford described the experience as "a cool experience" and expressed his gratitude for Swift's positive interactions with his wife and their four daughters. "She's been amazing to get to know, and obviously amazing to my wife and my girls," Stafford stated on the SiriusXM podcast "Let's Go!" He noted that it was this connection that led to his involvement and that of some friends. "It was a really cool experience."
He also observed Swift's multifaceted role on set, saying, "She's directing, producing, editing, running the show, obviously the lead singer. It's a pretty impressive thing, and I was really happy to be a part of it."
Stafford brought his daughters—twins Sawyer and Chandler, 9, Hunter, 8, and 6-year-old Tyler—to the set. He said the experience allowed them to witness the production process and observe Swift's demeanor. "My girls were there on the set, got to see how all that was done and how (Swift) kind of carries herself, which is unbelievable," he remarked. "I know my girls will never forget being there, seeing all that on set, which was cool."
In the video, the Staffords can be seen dancing together in the background of several scenes. They appeared alongside actors Colin Farrell and Dakota Johnson. Swift debuted the video at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles, where she also accepted MTV's inaugural Artist Director Honors. The Staffords have previously shown support for Swift and Kelce, dressing as the couple for Halloween in 2024, and their daughters were seen imitating a dance from Swift's song 'The Fate of Ophelia' last December.
