Matthew Stafford and Wife Kelly Appear in Taylor Swift's 'Patient Zero' Music Video
The Los Angeles Rams quarterback and his wife were spotted in the background of Swift's latest video, which debuted during the MTV Video Music Awards.
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford made a notable appearance in Taylor Swift's new music video for "Patient Zero," which premiered Sunday evening.
Swift debuted the video, from a re-release of her 2025 album "The Life of a Showgirl," during the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards. Stafford and his wife, Kelly Stafford, were seen in the background of several scenes, including one where they were dancing together. The video also featured actors Colin Farrell and Dakota Johnson.
Swift herself directed the production and accepted MTV's inaugural Artist Director Honors at the awards ceremony.
The Staffords have a history of showing support for Swift and her relationship with NFL star Travis Kelce. They previously attended Swift and Kelce's wedding over the summer and dressed as the couple for Halloween in 2024. Their daughters were also previously seen imitating a dance from Swift's song "The Fate of Ophelia."
While the music video marked a public appearance for the Staffords, the same Sunday evening proved challenging for Matthew Stafford on the football field. During the Rams' game against the Denver Broncos on NBC's Sunday Night Football, Stafford threw two crucial interceptions in the fourth quarter. The first interception resulted in a 66-yard pick-six that gave the Broncos their first lead of the game. Despite the Rams regaining the lead, the Broncos scored with less than a minute remaining to go up 30-26. Stafford's final pass of the game, an attempt to find receiver Davante Adams in the end zone on the last play, was intercepted.
The Rams, who entered the season as Super Bowl favorites, now hold a 1-2 record. They are scheduled to play the Philadelphia Eagles next week.
