Actor Matthew McConaughey, known for his Oscar-winning performance in "Dallas Buyers Club" and the sci-fi epic "Interstellar," has revealed that his 2003 romantic comedy "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" generates the most residual income of any film he has made.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, McConaughey stated that the film, in which he starred opposite Kate Hudson, provides him with the "best mailbox money" by a significant margin compared to his other projects. He noted that prior to the widespread adoption of streaming services, he would receive a substantial payment each March, largely due to the film's association with Valentine's Day viewership.

McConaughey expressed a particular fondness for "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days," calling it his favorite romantic comedy and a significant anchor in the genre. He also reflected on his role as Mark Hanna in "The Wolf of Wall Street," describing it as a "real launch-pad character."

McConaughey recalled the initial chemistry readings with Hudson, emphasizing that their comfort and playful banter immediately established a strong connection. He described their dynamic as a "rock and roll exchange" that suggested potential for "heavyweight fun," contributing to their casting and the film's success.

Hudson echoed these sentiments in a March 2025 interview with Vanity Fair, referring to McConaughey as one of the "great loves" in her filmography. She highlighted their shared "joie de vivre," competitive nature, and flirtatious energy as key elements that facilitated their on-screen connection and the portrayal of a falling-in-love couple.
